If you search for ERP system cost in Oman, you will not find one correct number, because the price follows what your business actually needs. The good news: the factors that raise or lower it are few and well known. Once you understand them, you can compare any two quotes and tell whether an offer is fair.
What sets the price?
Five factors explain most of the gap between one quote and another:
- Number of modules. Accounting alone costs less than accounting plus inventory, purchasing, HR and point of sale.
- Users and branches. Every branch and every permission level needs set-up and testing.
- Integrations. A payment gateway, your current accounting software, a fingerprint device or WhatsApp.
- Moving old data. Excel files, opening balances, customers and items need cleaning before they go in.
- What is built for you. Reports, invoices and workflows that match how you work, including full Arabic and English on every document.
Three ways to be priced
| Model | How you pay | Fits when |
|---|---|---|
| Ready-made subscription | A monthly fee per user | Your business looks like most others and needs no changes |
| Ready-made licence | A sum at purchase, then yearly fees | A large company with its own IT team |
| A system built for you | One fixed price for a clear scope | Your way of working is specific and you want to own the system |
A subscription looks cheap in month one, but add up three years before you decide. A system built for you costs more at the start, but it stops charging you monthly for every employee you add.
Costs that do not appear in the quote
Ask about these before you sign, because they cause most of the surprises:
- Hosting, backups and security updates: inside the price, or a monthly fee?
- Staff training: how many days, and who attends?
- Changes after delivery: how many are free, and what does a request cost after that?
- Ownership of the code and the data: can you move to another provider and take your data with you?
How we price
At Mahara Tech we give you one fixed price before we start, after we understand how you work today. Larger systems, such as a full ERP with several integrations, are priced on their scope and come with a written timeline. If what you need is a website with a booking and ordering system, or an app for your team, our packages start at OMR 1,100 for the website and OMR 2,900 for the Business package; details are on the prices page.
To get an accurate price faster, build your system spec in the Studio: pick the modules you need and send them to us, and we reply with specific questions instead of a long call. You can also browse what goes into accounting systems and inventory systems.
Questions to ask before comparing two quotes
Ask each provider to answer in writing: which modules are included, by name? How many users? Is data migration inside the price? How long will it take? What happens if you want to change provider? The quote that answers these clearly is the one most likely to be delivered as written.
A quote comparison sheet: what to get in writing
When two quotes arrive at different prices, the gap is usually not quality but what is included. Copy this table and fill it in for each provider:
| Item | Provider A | Provider B |
|---|---|---|
| Modules included, by name | ||
| Users and branches | ||
| Old data migration | included / not | |
| Integrations (payment, accounting, WhatsApp) | ||
| Training (days and people) | ||
| Free-changes period | ||
| Hosting and backups | in price / monthly fee | |
| Ownership of code and data | ||
| Written timeline |
Two examples of scope (no figures)
A services company with ten staff and one branch: accounting, invoices, customers and payroll. A relatively small scope, and a system built on the Business package with owner reports is often enough.
A trading company with three branches and stock: accounting, inventory, purchasing, sales, point of sale, permissions and consolidated reports. A much larger scope because every branch adds set-up, data and testing, so it is delivered in phases: stock and sales first, then accounting and HR.
The rule: the more precisely you write the scope, the closer the quoted price is to what you will actually pay. That is why we give one fixed price after we understand your business, not before.
Common questions
Is a ready-made package enough instead of a full ERP?
If what you need is a website with ordering or booking and a daily management system, yes, and that is what our packages cover. If you have accounting, stock, purchasing and branches, ask about an ERP in phases, and read how long a system takes to build.
Is a monthly subscription cheaper than a system built for you?
In month one, yes, but a subscription is charged per user and per month. Add up three years and compare it with one fixed price for a system you own, then decide.
